Two different jobs here, so it's worth knowing which one you've got. Trevor gets you back inside the vehicle, any hour of the night — cars, big trucks, RVs, without tearing up your door.

Keys are cut and programmed during the day, by me and my other man. Locked out at midnight, call and Trevor rolls. Need a key made, call in the morning and we'll set you up.

How we work

No bait price. No call center.

A lot of what shows up when you search "locksmith near me" is a national lead broker that sells your call to whoever bids. You get a $19 quote on the phone and a $300 bill in the driveway. That's not us. Here's how ours goes.

1980

Cut my first key at sixteen, out of a locksmithing course. Been at it ever since.

1990

Opened American Lock & Safe in Winchester, the same year I got married. Tullahoma was on the route from the first week.

1994

Moved the business to Tullahoma. Same trade, same family, thirty-two years in this town.

2006

Tennessee started licensing locksmiths. We were licensed that year and every year after.

2021

Tennessee repealed the program. The license went away. We didn't.

So what does "licensed" mean now?

Nothing, in this state. Tennessee ended locksmith licensing on May 27, 2021 — no license, no background check, no exam, no state board to complain to. Anyone advertising a current Tennessee locksmith license is either confused or counting on you not knowing.

We're not licensed today. Nobody here is. What we can tell you is that we held one every year the state offered it, and we've been working these counties since before the program existed.

You reach a locksmith

The phone rings to us here in Tullahoma, not a dispatch floor three states away. You can ask the tech what the job involves before you commit to anything.

We price the work on the call, including the service fee. If we get there and it turns out to be a different job, we tell you before we start — not after.

Ask for ID, and insured

Ask for ID at the door and you'll get it, every time. Property managers and contractors can have our certificate of insurance in hand before we start. If anyone won't show you either, don't let them touch your lock.

Drilling is the last resort

Most locks open without damage. We pick, bypass, or make a key first. If a lock genuinely has to be drilled, you'll know why and what the replacement costs.

Service area

If you're inside the line, we're on the way.

We run mobile service out of the Tullahoma shop across Coffee, Franklin, Bedford and Moore counties — seven days a week, around the clock. Outside that radius, call anyway. We'll either come out or point you to someone reputable who will.

Dropping something off? Locks, safes and keys can be left at our rental office at 712 E Lincoln St, Monday through Friday, 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Everything else, we come to you.
